The theme park in County Meath announced the name change today to the shock and awe of Tayto enthusiasts around the country. 

Tayto Park has announced its official name change to Emerald Park. From January 2023, the park will no longer be known by its crisp-themed moniker as the park undergoes a rebrand. 

General Manager Charles Coyle referred to Ireland’s reputation as “the Emerald Isle” internationally. After doing field research, Emerald Park garnered the most enthusiastic response. The park was founded in 2010 by Coyle’s father Raymond Coyle who passed away in June of this year.

The park’s marketing manager Niamh Reynolds revealed, “We made the strategic decision to not look for a brand title sponsor but rather create a new brand – Emerald Park which we hope will be supported next year by a number of strategic brand partners from various sectors – FMCG, energy, transport to name a few. We are actively meeting brand teams at present and we are very confident we will have the right partners in place for 2023”.

Since its official opening, the park has been beloved for its rides, attractions, zoo and the free bag of crisps handed out to visitors before heading home. Potential names at one point supposedly included “Megaland”, “Legends Park”, “Mí Park” and “Top Park.” 

Users threw their own ideas for potential names into the ring, including “Parky McParkFace”, “Centra Park”, “Hunky Dory Park” and “Mosney 2: Back in the Habit.”
