The Bernard Shaw is relocating to Dublin’s Northside

Following the announcement of it’s closure, it has been announced The Bernard Shaw is relocating.

Following the news of The Bernard Shaw’s imminent closure, it has been revealed that the venue will be relocating to the Northside of the city where Bodytonic hospitality have acquired the Porterhouse Whitworth, at Cross Guns Bridge.

The hopes are as much of the original elements of the Shaw will be transferred to the new space and there is potential for retaining the name of the venue also.

In an interview with the Irish Times, Bodytonic’s Trevor O’Shea stated, “We are pretty much transplanting everything we do at the Bernard Shaw to there.”

“Some things won’t fit – we don’t have loads of wallspace for art. There is indoor and outdoor space, but it is smaller. We will launch it the same weekend we close here [the Bernard Shaw]. We might keep the name, or start with a new name, we are not sure yet.”

More info as we have it.

Update:

The new site for the relocated venue has the name ‘Racket’, confirming the name change from The Bernard Shaw.
