Thundercat’s new album ‘It Is What It Is’ has landed

Good morning to Thundercat and Thundercat only.

Having played a big part in the modern jazz renaissance with his intricate blend of jazz, soul and hip hop Stephen Bruner Aka Thundercat is back with his forth studio album.

‘It Is What It Is’ enlists his trademark falsettos and is littered with top tier meme content, with lines such as “I may be covered in cat hair, but I still smell good” and features from the likes of comedian turned rapper Zach Fox.

Steve Lacy, Childish Gambino, Lil B and Louis Cole join a number of others on the star studded line-up on a record sitting at a digestible 37 minutes.

Reflecting on his own mortality throughout there is an emotional tribute to his close friend, the late Mac Miller in ‘Fair Chance’.

Flying Lotus contributed to much of the production and the final product is a  cohesive sounding project that is arguably his best work yet.
