Yake Loga has ended 2019 with a fluid cut.

Formerly one half of NEOMADiC, Yake Loga made a name for himself alongside DYRAMiD for languid and lofi stoner rap cuts.

They released their debut project ‘The NEOMADiC Tape’ back in 2017 and have been relatively quiet since then. Now based in Canada, Yake Loga took a bit of a break to realign and refocus but he’s finally returned with a bouncing record.

Sonically speaking ‘Tango’ is a bit of a departure from his previous work but a welcome change. Reminiscant of some of Smino’s early work it’s clear the Dublin MC has an knack for off-kilter ear worm hooks.

On the new record Yake Loga said, “Inspiration was based off of that feeling when you first meet that girl/guy that you find really interesting and intriguing. Sorta based off the feeling you get from that initial meeting, playing it cool, not playing it cool, flirting and getting to know each other. Kinda gave me the image of this intimate back and forth dance between two people.”

Speaking on his lack of music in the past few years, he was very honest.

“It was mostly down to losing some confidence and wanting to work on my sound and just step away from it for a bit. Wasn’t really a conscious decision but thats how it unfolded in the end.”

If the latest record is anything to go by 2020 will be an exciting year for Yak Loga.

“2020 we just wanna release a nice continuous stream of music to get things back up and running again. No exact plans yet kinda wanna just get back to creating and releasing stuff that we think is fire and are happy to share with everyone.”
