CARRON recruits Kobina for remix of ‘Even Sad Birds Sing’
‘Even Sad Birds Sing’ (Kobina Remix) is the second of CARRON’s quarantine remix series.
Sisters and multi-instrumentalists Méabh and Mella Carron AKA CARRON have joined forces with Amsterdam-based Irish producer Kobina for the second release of their remix series.
The ‘Even Sad Birds Sing’ remix was created in lockdown and the subsequent video was directed by Irish filmmaker Conor McCormick and stars John McMahon. It echoes the daily repetition and isolation felt by most throughout the pandemic.
Speaking on the track Kobina said, ‘For me, it was it all about creating a sense of release from the initial feeling of claustrophobia. Emphasising the hope In the original vocal by pushing it into another context.’
