Dublin’s Virgin Mary Shutters

Dublin’s first non-alcoholic bar The Virgin Mary closed this week after four years in business.

Speaking to The Times, a representative from the bar confirmed the closure, adding that “spiralling costs were a big factor for us”.

Located bam, smack in the middle of Capel Street the bar was known for mocktails and an extensive selection of non-alcoholic beers and spirits. It became the only pub in Ireland to serve exclusively non-alcoholic drinks when it opened in May 2019.

The Virgin Mary team also announced that they’ll be taking their concept on tour, popping up at festivals, events and such across the island of Ireland.

You can keep up with The Virgin Mary on Instagram. You can still order their non-alcoholic drinks “sober starter kits” and more through their website.
