Irish photographer Mark William Logan to exhibit first solo show

“We need to embrace our own diversity and that of the world which surrounds us. For she leads to growth. She is evolution.”

We first encountered Mark Logan when we met up with him and Damian Murphy for a conversation about comparing club culture in LA and Dublin. On the back of that conversation Mark shot a poignant feature in Issue 001 entitled ‘Liberated’.

Now he’s taking over The Tara Building from July 19-26 for his debut photography exhibition.

“When I first took up a camera I never thought of myself as a photographer. I still don’t, I just have an innate desire to create and ask questions. This is the first time I have ever exhibited anything I made, and to be honest, I am shitting myself. But then again, if there wasn’t fear then would it be worth doing?”

The show is called DiVERSE and doesn’t represent the diversity of ethnicity, but “the diversity of human experience had by each of us”.

Mark continues, “When reflecting on the images I have captured, I observe vast differences at various stages of my evolution. This diversity and evolution is precisely what I am exhibiting. Why? Because I believe diversity is not something we should fear. We need to embrace our own diversity and that of the world which surrounds us. For she leads to growth. She is evolution.”
