Words: Dylan Murphy

The Dreamville head honcho has returned with his first solo album since 2018’s KOD.

Today, J. Cole has released The Off-Season. It comes following a freestyle on L.A Leakers and ‘I n t e r l u d e’, which landed last week.

Though Cole grew a reputation for going platinum with no features on his last three albums, The Off-Season does see the likes of 21 Savage, Lil Baby and Cam’ron feature with production coming from a slew of producers including Timbaland, Boi-1da and more.

Since the release of 2019’s Revenge of the Dreamers III compilation album, Cole shared ‘Snow on tha Bluff’, which garnered a response from Noname in the shape of ‘Song 33’. Additionally, the South Carolina rapper also dropped ‘The Climb Back’ which features on the new album and ‘Lion King on Ice’.

Elsewhere, according to reports, J. Cole is set to sign with Rwandan Basketball team Patriots Basketball Club as part of the first season of the Basketball Africa League.
