Marcus Woods shares convulsing new track ‘Saturn V’ via Burner Records

Marcus Woods channels his inner Teklife for new single.

One of our favourite things about young producer Marcus Woods is how bored he seems to get with genres. When he was just 16 we were struck by his maturity as a hip hop beatmaker and since then he has gone on to dip his toes into more ambient soundscapes, trap and now he’s gone down something of a footwork route.

‘Saturn V’ is the first single from Marcus on the imprint he co-founded Burner Records, following on from label-mate Sick Nanley’s video for ‘Mouthspit‘.

“‘Saturn V’ is my first single of 2019 and a foundation of what I plan to create throughout the year. I’m trying to gradually push boundaries with my music and not ground myself to one genre; with ‘Saturn V’, I feel this is the beginning of that idea. I made this track with no sense of what genre I was making, but had the concept of space, hence the NASA outro sample and the track title.

“I’m hoping to create more this kind of music with experimental elements fused with ambient sounds and a trap influence, with more aggression and energy than my debut album which I released last October, ‘Demo‘.”

Catch Marcus Woods on support at Rebel Phoenix’s upcoming show in The Grand Social on January 24.
