Rasharn Powell drops drawn-out summer anthem ‘Twelvemonth’

Fans of Frank Ocean and Steve Lacy pay attention.

Trying to get over someone can be a long process and London singer Rasharn Powell has captured the inevitable ups and downs in his sun-kissed new cut ‘Twelvemonth’.

Linking up again with frequent collaborator Luca Buccellati, who produced the head-nodding ‘Smithereens’, Rasharn has shared a double-sided single ‘Twelvemonth’ that is accompanied by the Chopped & Screwed edit on the B-side.

Powell has a penchant for capturing those same intimate moments that are frequently found on a Frank Ocean album. The stories that unfold in the backseat of a car, the fresh heartbreak that coincides with the end of summer and with his latest effort he’s said it sits ‘within dusk and dawn’.

“On Twelvemonth, I captured myself within one of the many elongated days you go through in a year, trying to get over someone. The good, the bad, the vices. A true declaration of longing and over-standing”, Rasharn said.
