The secrets out
The location of Dublin’s newest popup the Secret Sandwich Society (SSS) ain’t such a secret anymore. The sandwich popup opened in Harold’s Cross’s MVP on Thursday, April 15th.
Opening their doors with five permanent fixtures on the board and promises of “the odd weekly special every few weeks”, SSS shared their menu.
There’s Maggie’s Meatballs, made up of homemade meatballs, ragu, rocket, parmesan topped with some fresh basil. The Sweetcorn Fritter, made of yes you guessed it a sweetcorn fritter, vegan chipotle aioli, beechwood smoked Drumlin cheese and sprinkled with some hot sauce.
There’s a vegan-friendly Curried Chickpea, paired with avocado, red onion, coriander, lime, and mixed leaves. There’s also The Cure, which is potato gratin with beechwood smoked Drumlin cheese, alongside French Onion Soup served with beechwood smoked Drumlin cheese.
Choosing Dublin stalwarts Bread41 as their bakers, the SSS will be using the “best quality local and Irish produce” from the likes of McNally Family Farm and Corlegggy Cheeses.
These aren’t upstart sandwich sellers, this is a new venture from the people behind P Macs Dundrum which closed its doors on November 2020.
Sharing the news of the launch to their Instagram the SSS wrote, “we can’t wait to become part of the community and bring you all some top-quality local sandwiches.”
The Secret Sandwich Society will be operating out of MVP’s on 29 Clanbrassil Street Upper, Harold’s Cross, they will be open from 10am “until sold out” from Thursday through to Sunday. Follow them on Instagram, for more information.
