Shia La Bouf made his comeback last year with the well received ‘Honey Boy’. His first feature length script is a biographical fiction based on his own life and was unfortunately missing from much of the award season lists.
Last year Shia LaBeouf spoke about his experience with the film on the Writers Guild of America West podcast. They have now reported on his latest script based on close friend and founder of Brockhampton Kevin Abstract.
The Black List then posted the final script for ‘Minor Modifications’, based on Abstract.

The official synopsis states that the film is “based on the life of rapper Kevin Abstract, this biographical fiction follows a Texas teen as he struggles with identity, finding meaningful relationships, sexual fluidity and his direction in life.”
LaBeouf and Abstract have be known to have been friends for a while, with Shia having interviewed Kevin for ID last year.
Kevin famously live streamed himself walking on a treadmill for 10 hours in the build-up to his solo album with many citing Labeouf’s performance art as inspiration. They also host weekly therapy sessions at the rapper’s house with other musicians and creatives to talk about how they’ve been.
