Street artist & designer K-One on harnessing the energy of different cities

Lucozade Energy is championing the search for success and empowering young people to leverage their passions through positive energy. Last month K-One took part in the Lucozade Energy Sessions in Dublin’s Huckletree on Pearse Street, alongside rising musician Jafaris. We caught up with him before the event.

Con O’Brien, aka K-One, is an accomplished artist whose work has taken him all over the world. Currently based in Amsterdam, he was back in Ireland recently to paint. We met him in Cork for a conversation ahead of his involvement in the Lucozade Energy Sessions last month.

We discuss how emigration influenced Con as an artist, street art and graffiti’s inherently transient nature and how he moved from the streets to the design studios.

You can listen to the podcast below or anywhere else you usually get your podcasts.

In the run up to the Lucozade Energy Sessions we also produced a short film, entitled ‘Energy of Movement’, exploring Jafaris’ different sides, through the lens of movement, energy and dance. Click here to check that out.
