Wastefellow returns with new track ‘Fizzy Lifting Drinks’

“…it’s about the feeling when you awkwardly fancy someone, and it feels like the best thing ever and the worst thing ever at the same time.”

Since releasing ‘Post Human Potential‘ on Soft Boy Records in October, Wastefellow has been getting more of the spotlight he deserves. As well as featuring in the Soft Boy Boiler Room documentary, he has had premieres on DIY, Really Cool Friends Club and 2FM, has played shows across the Irish sea in big, bad London and even supported Shabazz Palaces.

His first post-‘Post Human Potential‘ track, ‘On the Dry’, was more club-ready than previous outings, and while ‘Fizzy Lifting Drinks’ is a little more rooted in the underground, it continues down that same road.

The track was was inspired by a riff that he created for a noise-rock band he was a part of in his teenage years.

“Like all good tunes written for 16 year old noise bands, it’s about the feeling when you awkwardly fancy someone, and it feels like the best thing ever and the worst thing ever at the same time. Back then it was just lyrics and a guitar riff which we never fleshed into a full song.”

Wastefellow concludes the ‘Wastefellow World Tour of Dublin and Cork and Galway’ on April 26 in Button Factory.
