The video comes as part of a series that sees Cabal introduce their new label with unique performances across the globe.
In the lead up to a vinyl only release on their new label with Brawni, Cabal have shared a live performance video with the producer direct from Blessington Lakes, Wicklow. Coming as a result of his insistence that he brings his portable synths in a suitcase wherever he travels, the video is the first in a series of scenic performance videos in different countries with the producer.
A product of a spontaneous idea whilst on a trip to the Canary Islands, he persuaded some crew members to record him performing in the Corralejo Desert and the rest is history. Given that Dillon Reid leans into a more instinctive creative process under his Brawni alias, the settings make sense.
Releasing one video every month, there’s new visuals shot in Lisbon on the way. Up first though is a recording of a live performance from Brawni at Blessington Lakes in Wicklow.
Speaking on the project, Cabal’s Cóilín Phelan says, “We [Cabal] have wanted to start a label for a long time, but never found the right way to kick it off. Our good friend Brawni came to us after lockdown with a body of work that we thought would be the perfect first release.”
“This will be a vinyl only release so we needed to find a way to get his music out there somehow. The fact that all of his music is recorded and performed live, we figured we should double down on that and produce a series of live videos from different locations around the globe.”
