The hit show returns to Dublin this March following a phenomenal premiere run in 2022.

It’s easy to feel deflated when social media reduces our world to a claustrophobic series of crises and controversies. Internet pop psychology will often reduce the antidote down to ‘go outside and touch grass’. In reality, this can look like any of the following; connecting with like-minded people, getting lost in the moment at a gig and feeling a sense of community. It’s a rare occasion when you see all these experiences coalesce naturally, let alone a show that also uplifts the best homegrown talent. Created by Jennifer Jennings, Phillip McMahon & Niall Sweeney THISISPOPBABY’s ‘WAKE’ is returning to Dublin at just the right time.

Set in a transformed National Stadium in Dublin 8 from March 6-23, showcasing a cross section of contemporary Ireland and celebrating the joy of shared connection.

Set in Dublin 8, ‘WAKE’ embraces the spirit of the vibrant and diverse local community. A forward-facing one, that is representative of a modern Ireland without abandoning its history.

Featuring cabaret performances, impressive acrobatics, traditional music remixed through the lens of electro pop and a host of surprises, it’s an unique experience; comparisons do it a disservice. Having arrived as a welcome invitation to leave the house in 2022 following the lifting of restrictions, ‘WAKE’ returns in 2024 as an enduring celebration of joy as well as being an unforgettable party that lifts the roof off the National Stadium.

‘WAKE’ is opening on Wednesday 6th March at the National Stadium. Of course, it wouldn’t be a THISISPOPBABY event without a party and they’ve planned pre-show parties with neighbourhood favourite The Circular, as well as with the innovative no alcohol bar Board. On Thursday nights, during the show’s run, Love Tempo will be hosting after-show parties.

For 17 years, THISISPOPBABY has made an inimitable imprint on popular culture in Ireland, pushing conversations through their storytelling and showcasing of a wide range of voices while bringing the dance floor to the stage and the stage to the dance floor.
