Quiet Light: From A24 To the Guinness Storehouse

The word ‘ethereal’ is thrown around a lot, however very few inhabit the astral plane in such a way as Quiet Light. She’s a rising artist who has been cosigned by some of the biggest women in music, and now she’s bringing her sound to the Guinness Storehouse for Other Voices: Home on 8 November.

We’re in an era of gorgeous electronic fusion music. Artists such as Oklou, Eartheater and Magdalena Bay are combining sweet, airy vocals with a foundation built in electronic soundscapes. If you’re partial to this, then Quiet Light is an artist that should join your rotation. Bridging the gap between the pop girlie and the electronic fan, her musical journey began in 2020, however has gained serious momentum with her most recent project Blue Angel Sparkling Silver 2. Glitch, sampling, drum loops form a backdrop to reverb-heavy vocals that can meander from soul crushing to effervescent.

The stages she’s graced already attest to her work being revered within the music world. Only a few months ago, she was welcomed into the A24 family by playing their Sound Check at Cherry Lane Theater series. Prior to this, Quiet Light’s summer also saw her perform at the Daisy Chain Fields Festival, where she was personally invited by Olivia Rodrigo. Combine this with support slots for Cameron Winter, Erika de Casier, Nilüfer Yanya and Chanel Beads, we are obviously seeing a star rise before our eyes.

Other Voices: Home at the Guinness Storehouse is a chance to see a star in the making, alongside a wonderfully curated lineup which includes ICEAGE, Cormac Begley, Aaron Rowe, and JayaHadADream, with a spoken word piece by Doireann Ní Ghlacáin. On 8 November, step into the Home of Guinness to immerse in a variety of sounds spanning acoustic slots to synth-heavy sets, pulling from the talents of artists from Ireland and afar.
