Breathalyse Yourself At These Events This Summer

Better safe than sorry.

Summer gig and festival season is finally upon us, so we’ve teamed up with the RSA to make sure you get home safe after a night out. Everybody wants to enjoy their summer, but the consequences of getting it wrong when it comes to drink driving are severe.

If you’re caught drink driving, you face a driving disqualification of between 3 months and 6 years, a fine of up to €5,000, or up to 6 months in prison. Refusing a breath test is also a criminal offence, carrying the same potential penalties. With Garda checkpoints able to appear on any road at any time, the risks are constant.

The RSA brings the FlineBox service to festivals, concerts, and sporting events to help people make a safer call before getting behind the wheel. The units give you an indication of your blood alcohol level (above or below the legal limit), so you have practical information before deciding whether it’s safe to drive. It’s voluntary, simple to use, and there to help people make the right decision about getting home.
