Lips2Ears Rally The Best of Irish Rap On Their ‘Playing Field’ EP

Lips2Ears are set to release ‘Playing Field’ EP alongside a live showcase at Workman’s Cellar.

Keep your ears to the ground for these guys, because what they’re doing is innovative, creative and current. ‘Playing Field’ EP is the brainchild of videographers and DJ Cian Bolger and Ryan Dwyer. This is a 5 track project showcasing some of the best sounds to be coming out of Ireland’s alternative rap scene. The EP features rappers Curtisy, Ahmed, With Love., Lil Skag, IB Rebel and Half Pipe.

The varied rap styles from each of the rappers give us a taster into the vast array of talented word smiths representing Ireland’s ever-expanding rap scene. Whether it’s the choppy rhythms and characteristic wit from Ahmed, With Love., the dulcet tone of IB rebel or the slow paced rhymes from Curtisy, there’s something for everyone in this one.

There will be 5 music videos to accompany this eclectic mix, with backdrops ranging from Enniscorthy to East London. All videos display equally visually stimulating settings whether it’s in Curitsy’s bedroom, Lil Skag’s car, or Half Pipe’s corner shop,  the Lips2Ears lads have really solidified their video aesthetic.

The EP is available on Bandcamp from today, and on all streaming platforms from the 27th of September. To celebrate their release, Lips2Ears are putting on a show with all 5 rappers this Saturday the 28th of September in Workman’s Cellar.

Tickets available here.
