Anderson .Paak’s creativity knows no bounds. For his next trick, the collaborative king will unite 20 musicians from around the world to create, compose and record new music. And he’s doing it in Ireland.
Paak has collaborated in an exhaustive list of tracks with some of the most creative artists we know. Now, the multi-Grammy winning artist has selected “a family of musicians” from countries such as South Africa, India, Malaysia, and Australia to name a few. He’s throwing them in a room together in Cork this August to exchange ideas.
“Collaboration helps us to produce something that is unexpected,” said Anderson in an interview with The Spirits Business. “I’m going to be meeting, teaching and supporting a lot of great artists and cannot wait to share what we make. Who knows, we may create a new genre”, Anderson continued.
In a radio show parody released by Jameson, Anderson .Paak and his alter-ego, DJ Pee .Wee, carve a smile onto our faces as the infectious duo bounce off each other while announcing the music platform ‘Distilled Sounds’.
“Some of the best tracks I have come from collaborations; with ‘Distilled Sounds’ , we are building a family of musicians. It’s all about the connection”, he said in the video. Nobody can blend styles quite like Anderson .Paak. From the techno-house beats of Fred again.., the smooth soulfulness of Silk Sonic, the monotone rhymes of South Korean Rapper RM. He doesn’t just make it work, it goes hard. He shines alongside the elaborate schemes of Kendrick Lamar and Eminem. Paak’s most recent endeavour was with 90’s icon Gwen Stefani in their 2024 Paris Olympics track.
“These countries got such amazing music scenes that you really want to bring the sounds together, you know? Create something new.. for the fans”, Paak ironically says to himself in the four-minute-long video.
Fans have the opportunity to access the music that is composed through the Jameson website.
