AVA announces Annie Mac and more as part of online conference and event this month

Words: Dylan Murphy

Ahead of September’s festivities in Belfast, AVA announce a day of online performances and conversations to mark their flagship weekend featuring Annie Macmanus, Max Cooper, R.Kitt, Holly Lester and more.

As the clouds start to move and the sun emerges, there’s hope yet for live music in the coming months. AVA Festival is a must attend festival any music head on the island and has routinely curated stellar events and lineups since its inception in 2014.

With the main event moving to September for 2021, and with support from the Arts Council NI, AVA will host a packed day of online performances and conversations on Friday 28 May to mark the usual AVA Festival and Conference flagship weekend.

Annie Mac will be in conversation with Seamas O’Reilly, discussing her transition from Dublin to Belfast and then London and her evolution as a broadcaster and DJ to a podcaster and author.

Elsewhere, Max Cooper will deliver a workshop around his Yearning For The Infinite project. Plus, there’ll be a panel on ‘DIY Release Strategies 101’ digging deep into the strategic side of release campaigns. Plenty for artists and next-generation industry heads to learn from throughout the day.

What’s more, is all of the online events are free! Head over to their website ahead of the full festival and tune into what promises to be a special evening of entertainment ahead of the full experience in September.
