Barry Keoghan’s Latest Gripping Performance Is Here

BRING THEM DOWN is now streaming on MUBI, get 30 days free at mubi.com/district

Bring Them Down is one of the fiercest Irish releases in years. Directed by the award-winning Christopher Andrews, and showcasing Barry Keoghan in yet another powerhouse performance set against the unforgiving landscape of rural Wicklow, this isn’t one you’re going to want to miss.

Keoghan has built a reputation for playing complex, often disturbing characters, from his breakout role in The Killing of a Sacred Deer to his Oscar-nominated turn in The Banshees of Inisherin, and more recent lead in Saltburn. In Bring Them Down, he keeps up his reputation of bringing a vulnerable yet unsettling energy to the screen, with RTE describing him as “chilling”, The Financial Times noting that his performance was “as compelling as ever”, and Screen Rant describing Barry’s performance as “exceptional”.

The plot follows the story of a reclusive farmer, played by Christopher Abbott, seen in Poor Things and Wolf Man, who finds himself caught in an escalating conflict with a nearby family. His already fragile world is thrown into chaos when a dispute over land and livestock with a neighbouring family escalates. In turn, Barry Keoghan portrays his rival, Jack an unpredictable and reckless farmer whose volatile nature fuels the conflict, pushing tensions to the brink of violence. Set against the vast, unforgiving Irish landscape, the film explores themes of isolation, revenge, and a destructive cycles of violence that consumes a rural community.

Don’t worry if you missed the film in the cinemas. Bring Them Down is now streaming on MUBI. Get your 30 day free trial at mubi.com/district, and enjoy this one from the comfort of your own home.
