Over the past years, we’ve seen some stunning and transformative jerseys become cultural cornerstones in fashion. Beamish has blessed the people with a jersey collaboration with O’Neills, reflecting the roots of the stout. Where better to host such an event than a hub of creativity in Cork – Sin É.
The culture seems to have fallen in love with the retro jersey lately. We’re seeing mouth-watering pieces left, right and centre. Now it’s Beamish’s turn with this gorgeous piece, made by O’Neill’s. It’s a beacon of Beamish heritage and they’ll be dropping very soon.
On 16 July from 6-9pm, Cork’s Sin É will host the debut of a shirt representing the people. We’re also giving away 5 of these jerseys at the event via our Instagram competition.
We love a jersey with a story and here Beamish has drawn from classic iconography. The crest is a nod to the Beamish original Cork brewery, which was founded in 1792 and the building dates back up to 500 years. The image in particular is pulled from the archive of Niall “Hi Tone” McCormack from his book on vintage Irish drinks labels called “Grand Stuff”. A classic collar and a red and white design give us inklings of vintage footballing days gone by, also reflected in the Beamish sponsor.
For those who can’t head along to the event on the night or weren’t lucky enough to be one of the 5 winners of a jersey, you will be able to buy the jersey directly from the O’Neill’s website from July 16. Keep an eye out for it.
Calling all football casuals, this one is a banger.
