Buy the Snug Project calendar and support the elderly this Christmas

Words: Dylan Murphy

An absolute no brainer. Support a charity that will help look out for the elderly this Christmas and have a calendar featuring the best pub snugs in Ireland!

Things may look a little different this year, but The Snug Project is keeping the festival spirit alive and raising vital funds ahead of Christmas.

They’ve produced a charity calendar and limited edition prints celebrating pub snugs across Ireland. Featuring photography from Finn Richards of the likes Mulligan’s in Poolbeg Street and The Greyhound in Cork, the project sees funds go to Alone.

Alone is a national organisation that provides support for older people, including those who are lonely, isolated, frail or ill, homeless, living in poverty, or are facing other difficulties. They have nearly 3000 volunteers throughout the Country who will visit or call older people to provide companionship and support.

The locations of the snugs in the calander:

  • Michael Fawl, Ennis, Co. Clare (January and cover)
  • Kehoe’s, South Anne St, Dublin (February)
  • Garavan’s, William St, Galway (March)
  • Mulligan’s, Poolbeg St, Dublin (April)
  • Dick Mack’s, Dingle, Co. Kerry (May)
  • J. Coffey, Borrisoleigh, Co. Tipperary (June)
  • Tigh Neachtain, Cross St, Galway (July)
  • O’Flaherty’s, Dingle, Co. Kerry (August)
  • Thomas Connolly, Sligo, Co. Sligo (September)
  • O’Connor’s Bar and Lounge, Ballisodare, Co. Sligo (October)
  • The Palace Bar, Fleet St, Dublin (November)
  • The Greyhound, Kinsale, Co. Cork (December)

Prints and calendars will be sold online from Friday 20th November until Christmas.
