Chimac to open in Terenure

Chimac has signed the dotted line for their second location in what was Kitchen 101. Works have just started, and they hope to be open by the end of the summer.

Situated in the centre of Terenure village, next to Mario’s and Sherry Fitz, two doors up from Saltwater Grocery. The team are ‘excited about becoming part of the neighbourhood as we feel there is such a vibrant buzz with Lotts and Co moving in, and I believe Bujo will be just across the street, which will be great’ according to Sofie Rooney; Chimac’s Director of Operations.

The space is much larger than Chimac in Aungier Street, seating more than seventy people at a time. They will have room for private parties and celebrations across three floors. Chimac plans a sit-down, relaxed space on the top floor for the weekends. This space will have a different feel and menu featuring smaller, sharing plates, bar snacks and cocktails.

Chimac, as a Korean concept, is very much about sharing food with friends, so the team hope this space will enable them to bring this to the fore. The space itself is bright and contains original brickwork and features. But, she said, ‘there are some very Celtic Tiger-esque features that we will be working on upgrading and removing – The toilets are out of this world bad- as we bring the Chimac look and feel to life across the entire space’.

Inspired by South Korean fried chicken, using free-range birds, Chimac has an expansive fried chicken burger menu. Pivoting towards a more inclusive spread, they are developing a kiddies menu and plan to launch delivery with Deliveroo once they’re up and running. Chimac also sells its sauces nationwide.
