Cosha invites Shygirl for a ‘Lapdance From Asia’

Words: Dylan Murphy

Irish vocalist Cosha links up with Shygirl over an instrumental made by Zack Sekoff and Mura Masa.

Irish vocalist and songwriter Cosha has shared her new single ‘Lapdance From Asia’ featuring vocals from Shygirl.

Lyrically, the track was inspired by a night out at the strip club while on tour in Brisbane, whereas the instrumental resulted from a studio session with Cosha, Mura Masa and Zack Sekoff.

Speaking on how the views from the studio that overlooked the Hollywood hills inspired the track Cosha said, “It was nighttime so you could see all the lights beneath you for miles. I wanted to make something that sounded like the view.”

Lapdance From Asia’ features vocals from genre-bending UK artist Shygirl.

“Me and Shy had been following each other for a while on IG and I think we recognised something in each other that we liked, definitely an energy that translated in the song and ultimately into our friendship”, Cosha said.

Lapdance From Asia’ comes hot on the heels of Cosha’s recent singles ‘Berlin Air’ and ‘No Kink in The Wire’. All three songs are taken from a forthcoming, soon-to-be-announced project being released in summer of 2021.

Previously, Cosha who was born in Wicklow has worked with Mura Masa, Rostam and toured with Flume.
