Curtisy and Txpe_eater wrestle with uncertainty in ‘TOBACCO!’

The pair from the capital link up in a hazy smoked out rap cut.

It feels fitting that Earl Sweatshirt and Curtisy dropped on the same weekend. The Dublin rapper shares DNA with the west coast artist’s meandering word play and dreary pace of play and in teaming up with producer Txpe_eater, they’ve shared ‘TOBACCO!’, a slow burning cut that could fit neatly into Feet of Clay.

Having produced Ahmed, With Love.’s single ‘FULL PLATE’, Txpe_eater’s stock is on the rise and his latest effort provides the perfect backdrop for Curtisy to wrestle with his doubts.

Speaking on ‘TOBACCO!’, Txpe_eater said, “Given the opportunity to say anything regarding this collab – my debut, curtisy’s sophomore – it’s been a big leap for both of us in regards to how we want to handle our music output. The short recording sessions we had making this song weren’t always coherent and i think we weren’t completely aware of what we had made when we called it quits, but the finished product has been the most complete piece of work I think i’ve ever produced in my short time of being a musician.”

“Even if it flops, myself and curtisy are putting our best foot forward and we are not stopping here”

Earlier this month, Curtisy featured in our 10 breakthrough Irish rap artists in 2021.
