A dark day for Drury Street.
Dublin City Council have revoked Ciss Maddens’ outdoor license, meaning that customers at one of the most popular pubs on Drury Street will no longer have the option to enjoy their drinks outside.
Earlier today, District reached out to both Dublin City Council and Ciss Maddens to confirm the rumours. A spokesperson from Ciss Maddens responded: “Yes, indeed, the DCC have revoked our outdoor licence. We are very disappointed ourselves.”
“That means that – Our customers are no longer allowed to bring their drinks outside to enjoy these lovely sunny days. Isn’t that a shame.” – The Ciss Maddens Team
This recent decision to the council has come as a huge blow to the outdoor drinking and dining scene in Dublin, particularly with summer just around the corner. We also reached out to Dublin City Council for a comment on the decision, to which they responded: “Dublin City Council does not comment on individual licences. Dublin City Council remains committed to working with businesses across the city to support a thriving and vibrant business environment for all.”
