On Saturday July 18th at 9:30 AM, Life Style Sports x HOKA x District are hosting a free community run club to the streets of Dublin.
As a society, it’s safe to say we’re approaching peak-run club culture. But jokes aside, there’s no denying the gravity of the cultural moment run clubs have had across the globe. In a world where digital connection is easier than ever, genuine offline moments of connection have become more valuable than ever – especially when they simultaneously work to benefit our mental and physical health.
We were approached to help celebrate the launch of HOKA and the Clifton 11 at Life Style Sports, and we thought that would be a great excuse to bring some of our audience together and connect IRL. So next Saturday, we’re bringing a free community run club to the streets of Dublin. Darragh McElhinney, a multiple Irish national champion in middle and long distance running will be there on the day for some words of wisdom and there’ll be loads of opportunities to get to know new people. Whether you’re a lycra-clad marathon runner, working up to your first 5k, or even simply interested in meeting new people on the streets of this beautiful city we call home, you’re going to want to keep Saturday July 18th free.

Starting from the downstairs space in Life Style Sports on Grafton Street, you’ll have the choice of either a 5K or an 8K route through the city, with paced groups designed to suit everyone from complete beginners to seasoned runners. Even if you’re injured but want to join the fun, you’re welcome to come along anyway.
Of course, there’ll be a chance to get your hand on the shoe. Anyone into their running already will be familiar with this brand. HOKA make running shoes which have earned a solid reputation with runners for their high performance and minimal impact design, which can be worn both on and off the run.
Before the run, attendees will be among the first people in Ireland to try the brand-new HOKA Clifton 11, with 50 pairs available to test out on the route before the shoe officially drops. It’ll be first-come first-served, so show up right at 9.30am to be safe.
This isn’t just an event for the runners, there’ll be a load of freebees too. Post run, you can expect goodie bags packed with exclusive merch, iced coffee from Mr. French, and District DJs soundtracking the post-run social, giving everyone the chance to get to know each other while they catch their breath again.
At District, we spend a lot of time talking about Dublin’s culture and using words like community, but this only happens when everyone shows up in person to make it happen.
The event is completely free, but spaces (and the HOKA Clifton 11 trail runners) are limited, so check out the full agenda in our Eventbrite link and grab your spot while you can. We’ll see you on Saturday morning.
