Dublin By Dusk Is The Initiative Looking For You To Keep The City Alive Later
Dublin By Dusk is a nighttime initiative from Dublin City Council, the Department of Culture, Fáilte Ireland and DublinTown that has seen businesses and cultural institutions and retail spaces supported to stay open later into the evening. On the last Thursday of every month, the city extends its opening hours, with galleries, museums, theatres, shops, hospitality and more staying open that little bit longer.
We’re saying goodbye to summer, and that’s okay. Don’t mourn it. Instead, your business can be part of the mission to keep the doors open later in Dublin. Dublin By Dusk is making the most of the night by extending the opening hours of your favourite spots in the city. However, there’s more to be done. To be a thriving nighttime city and to provide quality visitor experiences, it takes a community.
Now, applications are opening up to you. If you have an initiative, business, museum, gallery or any establishment that you think could benefit from this expansion, here’s how you can make it happen. Restaurants across the city are also participating. Grab some food from the likes of Lisboa, Nolita, Café en Seine and so much more. If you want to indulge in some culture later into the eve, then you can visit a litany of experiences. From jazz in the Glass Mask Theatre to a deep dive into plant species from one of Ireland’s leading minds on the subject, at the Douglas Hyde Museum. So why not get your business involved?
Whether it’s a coffee shop or a community centre, DCC, the Department of Culture, Fáilte Ireland and DublinTown are open to hearing from you. If you want your institution to be promoted by Dublin By Dusk, the deadline for submissions is 15 September, with chosen businesses being included in the Dublin By Dusk programme leading up to and on 24 September. Applications are still open after 15 September; however, promotion isn’t guaranteed.
