Dublin Vintners Association call on government to reopen pubs in May

By Emily Mullen

“Call to Action”

The Licensed Vintners Association (LVA) have called on the government to reopen pubs in the capital. This comes as traditional pubs around the country have been closed for 400 consecutive days.

The “Call to Action” campaign aims to put pressure on government representatives in order to ease restrictions and allow a reopening. “We are urging publicans to contact politicians and press for the reopening of ALL hospitality from late May,” reads the statement issued by the LVA.

LVA CEO Donall O’Keefe and chairman Noel Anderson, marked the 400th consecutive day closure of traditional pubs by gathering beside the number 400 written out in pint glasses outside Leinster House.

The LVA want to see all outdoor venues reopen from May 24th, with indoor pubs open in June.
