Greta Thunberg was wearing Bohemian F.C.’s Fontaines D.C. collaboration whilst attempting to bypass Israel’s blockade on aid to Gaza. Thunberg, along with other activists, embarked on a boat from Sicily to raise awareness for Israel’s blockade of essentials into Palestinian territory.
The boat, operated by activist group Freedom Flotilla, left Sicily on Sunday and also has Irish actor Liam Cunnignham as well as French MEP Rima Hassan. Israel has been blocking aid, as it accuses Hamas of stealing vital packages, which it denies. Palestine is currently undergoing a serious famine, with global experts warning of devastating hunger arising if aid is not sent to Gaza imminently. A boat has previously been launched by the activist group, which was intercepted by a drone strike, which is alleged to have come from the IDF.
“The moment we stop trying is when we lose our humanity,” said Thunberg. The boat is expected to arrive in Gaza this Sunday, unless resistance is met. Over 52,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel so far.
