Cochina Cuevas announces a pop-up collab with London taqueria Homies On Donkeys this month.

Just because it’s January doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy a night out. One of the stars of our Hidden Gems guide La Cochina Cuevas, is here to put the flavour back into what can be a miserable month for many. Chef Jeremy Cuevas will host an impressive 8-course Mexican tasting menu at their spot in Naul. There will also be music, drinks and a whole load of craic. Joining them for the night Mexican is Head Chef Smokey from Homies on Donkeys. Homie on Donkeys are a London-based taqueria known for their fun and easy-going vibes.

The event promises to showcase the best of modern Mexican cooking techniques while highlighting Irish produce. Plus beats from the Homies. Tickets for this event are strictly limited and available through La Covina Cuevas’ website. Each ticket includes a cocktail on arrival and a craft beer with your main.

La Cocina Cuevas popped up in Dublin in 2019 at the hands of chef Jeremy Cuevos. Based on the Californian eatery opened by his grandmother in California in the 70s of the same name. Cuevas sought to carry on the family business. After a successful few years on the festival and market circuit, LCC now finds themselves at home in Naul. Where they serve drive-thru tacos from Thursday to Sunday.

Homies On Donkeys taqueria has been slinging tacos for over five years in Walthamstow, London. Chef Smokey cites music, humour and Mexican ingredients as the big three behind Homies On Donkeys. They have been crowned the winners of the 2019 Taco Wars in the UK. More recently, they also took top spot on BBC’s Britain’s Top Takeaways.
