Kayleigh Noble is hopelessly romantic in ‘Imaginary Boyfriend’

Words: Dylan Murphy

The rising singer returns home and reassesses her past heartbreaks in naturalistic new visuals.

Dating is difficult at the best of times and in the aftermath of a turbulent relationship, Irish-based singer Kayleigh Noble is searching for closure in the video for ‘Imaginary Boyfriend’.

Having recently returned home to Ireland after a stint in London, the singer is indulging in smokier sounds as she wrestles with the emotional baggage of her past encounters in a refined new cut.

Directed by Tadhg McDonogh Cunningham, the video sees Kayleigh being led through nature by an ambiguous figure blurring the lines between reality and fiction. It comes off the back of collaborations with 1000Beasts and 2021’s ‘Only One’.

Speaking on the release, she says, “I dated, I messed up and was a little heartbroken. As of now, I know in my head I want to stay single and keep growing and learning about myself, but I’m such a hopeless romantic and that always distracts me. I can be a mess, I’m owning it , but I’m also growing from it. I’ve accepted that I’m a hot mess.”
