Channeling found footage energy, Khakikid is releasing a series of performances filmed from the bathroom of the Workman’s Cellar.
Always keeping things fresh, Khakikid is releasing a new video series filmed straight from the Workman’s bathroom. “From The Jacks” turns the toilets of the Workman’s Cellar into a fluorescent new venue as Khaki and his band perform some of his best songs.
Performing a high-energy live rendition of ‘Slumped Up’, Khaki’s performance is probably one the best things that toilet has seen in a long time. Some extras still make an appearance to make use of the toilet, which honestly just creates an authentically unhinged performance (although hopefully no one gets stage fright).
Khakikid recently released his debut EP Elevator Music along with a music video for his single ‘Babybrown’. The six track EP has been slowly cooking over the last 12 months, with each subsequent single and video providing a clearer picture of his increasingly surreal world. ‘Babybrown’ sees Khaki channel his inner stepdad in a Wes Anderson-style visual story.
If you want to see Khaki perform beyond the bathroom of Workman’s, the rapper is headling Whelan’s on November 11. Not as unhinged as the toilets, but probably a lot nicer smelling.
