Kobina curates compilation tape with funds going towards his niece who has a terminal illness

Words: Dylan Murphy

Available on Bandcamp the project is raising money for his niece who has a rare and terminal illness.

Irish producer and DJ Kobina has shared a new compilation tape featuring contributions from a slew of Irish artists.

The proceeds from the compilation will go towards Aoibheann’s Pink Tie. His niece, who has a brain tumour that means she will likely not make her second birthday.

Speaking on the release Kobina said, “In May this year, one year old niece Nora was diagnosed with a rare terminal brain tumour, and although her time with us will be short she continues to be the embodiment of joy and love to us all. Her love of music has been evident since early and I wanted to celebrate her in the only way that I know how.

All proceeds from this release will go to Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, a charity which has supported my brother and his family throughout this journey. I cannot sufficiently express my thanks and gratitude to the people and friends that contributed to the release, I hope you know that I will be eternally grateful.

It features contributions from Sertone, Numbertheory, MuRli and more.
