Listen to the first tracks from new Dublin techno label, Patrúin

“Let’s go on our little tour of The Rathmines”

Patrúin, or ‘pattern’ for everyone who’s only got a cúpla focail Gaeilge, is a new electronic music label coming out of Dublin. They debuted their first mix of music taking over Repeater’s slot on Dublin Digital Radio, and it’s a good sign of things to come from the fledgling label.

Starting off with a gas little sample of an American giving travel advice for those new to Dublin, the mix ventures through birdsong-infused ambient tracks, to African edits, to rave-influenced techno (the track at 29:00 sounds like it’ll be holding up Dublin clubs for the next few months).

Not much is known about the new collective – the only info available on their Facebook and Soundcloud is “Tóg do chroí briste, a dhéanamh ealaín!” or “Take your broken heart, make art!”.  It seems like they’ll do a good job at carving a niche in the Irish experimental techno scene from their sound, name and identity, so keep your eye out.
