Little Simz shares new album ‘NO THANK YOU’

Words: Dylan Murphy

The new release tops off what has been a huge 12 months for the rapper and singer.

Last week, SZA had writers scrumpling their end of year lists up as she dropped her stunning new album SOS just before we wave goodbye to 2022. Little Simz is following the same blueprint. The London rapper is throwing her hat in the ring as a late contender for one of the records of the year with NO THANK YOU.

The new 10 track album comes after a huge year for Simz who saw her star rise following the release of 2021’s critically-acclaimed Sometimes I Might Be Introvert. Simbi went on to hit the top five of the album charts and collected Mercury Music Prize, MOBO, Ivor Novello and Brit Award wins.

Now, with little notice, she’s shared NO THANK YOU. Recorded with her regular collaborator Inflo, who produced much of her 2019 record Grey Area, NO THANK YOU is Simbi pushing the boat out even further. It also landed with a short statement from Simz:

emotion is energy in motion.
honour your truth and feelings.
eradicate fear.
boundaries are important.”
