Mo-K & RTÉ Concert Orchestra present ‘The Story of Hip Hop’ with Jafaris, Mango & more

“When I first heard this record played by the orchestra for the first time… It blew me away.”

2FM’s Mo-K has just confirmed that revellers at Electric Picnic on the Friday are in for something really special.

Following on from Jenny Greene’s success with RTÉ Concert Orchestra, it’s now hip hop’s time to get classical. Mo-K will be accompanied by vocalists Jess Kav (from Barq), Erica Cody, plus MCs Jafaris and Mango to explore the The Story of Hip Hop.

From its roots in the late 1970s, all the way up to its modern form, Mo will be joined by the huge 50-piece orchestra to play all the tracks that made the genre what it is today.

“Rehearsals so far have absolutely blown me away,” explains Mo. “I’ve never seen anything like this before.”

Catch it on Friday September 1, 8pm in Rankins Wood at Electric Picnic. Hopefully there’s a 3Arena show in store too…
