Mother is a cornerstone of LGBTQ+ culture in Ireland. Year on year, we’re blessed with countless queer events. This year’s Pride Block Party, supported by Absolut, is marking 15 years of activity in Ireland’s capital. On 28 June, queer icons from Ireland and afar will congregate at Collins’ Barracks with three stages of drag, live music and DJ sets.
In a decade and a half, Mother’s Block Party has gone from a spontaneous street party to becoming the official afterparty of Dublin Pride. This has resulted in it being Ireland’s biggest event, marking the date in the country. Consistently, Absolut have been supporting the largest celebration of LGBTQ+ culture in the calendar. Where else in Ireland can you watch one of the most popular drag artists in the world drop a DJ set? It’s a landmark year with it being 10 years since the marriage equality referendum, so Mother has gone all out.
Headlining the programme is The Blessed Madonna. Last year, we witnessed The Blessed Madonna share a stage with Kylie at Ireland’s largest festival, Electric Picnic, and now she’s returning to headline the Mother Block Party 2025. Named as Mixmag’s DJ of the year in 2016, The Blessed Madonna draws on legendary sounds of queer music such as disco, Chicago house and Detroit techno, baking in history to her sets.
Adding to the lineup is a Trixie Mattel DJ set. One of the drag icons of our time, Trixie first rose to stardom on none other than RuPaul’s Drag Race. She placed sixth overall in the 2015 edition and returned to take the crown in the third season of RuPaul’s All-Star edition of the show. Her success in the music world is undeniable, with her EP ‘Moving Parts’ and project ‘One Stone’ charting. A true Renaissance queen, singing, DJing, comedy and visual bravado all come naturally.
Across the lineup are other icons, including Samantha Mumba and Mother’s very own DJs. It’s a celebration spread across multiple stages, with arts, food and Absolut drinks and free merch sprinkled in between. To grab tickets to Mother’s Pride Block Party with Absolut, click here.
