With the endless onslaught of new music every Friday it’s hard to keep up with all the new releases. We’ve curated the essential new albums and projects out today for you to check out.

Yeat – Lyfë

Jockstrap – I Love You Jennifer B

Landing via Rough Trade, UK duo Jockstrap’s debut album is the result of years of experimentation and perfecting their craft. Made up of Black Country New Road’s Georgia Ellery and electronic producer Taylor Skye, their singular sound of chaotically sophisticated pop music is worth taking a chance on.

EDEN – ICYMI

Irish producer, songwriter and singer EDEN shares his long-awaited third studio album ICYMI. Read our full cover feature with the artist here.

Sonnyjim, The Purist – White Girl Wasted

You don’t get an MF DOOM and Jay Electronica verse on the same song without being really good. That’s before we even mention the production from Madlib and DJ Premier elsewhere on the album. As a duo, Sonnyjim and The Purist are hitting the sweet spot.

blackwave. – no sleep in LA

After releasing ‘cracked screen‘ featuring Dreamville’s Lute, Belgian hip hop duo blackwave. have shared their full length project no sleep in LA.

Cruel Sister – girls my age

Faith Nico AKA Cruel Sister has shared her debut EP girls my age alongside news of a Whelan’s headliner. Weaving between grunge, shoegaze and anything else that takes her fancy, it’s the start of an exciting era for the Dublin native.

Greentea Peng – GREENZONE 108

Greentea Peng’s new project features production from Nat Powers, Swindle, MJ Cole amongst others and comes off the back of her debut MAN MADE last year.

Sampa the Great – As Above, So Below

The product of reconnecting with herself after relocating home to Zambia during the pandemic, Sampa’s new album features Denzel Curry, Joey Bada$$ and more.

Elsewhere on District: EDEN is Ireland’s biggest pop star hidden in plain sight.
