Words: Dray Morgan

With the endless onslaught of new music every Friday it’s hard to keep up with all the new releases. We’ve curated the essential new albums and projects out today for you to check out.

redveil – playing w/ fire

18-year-old Redveil has already released two albums and now he’s back with this EP. He was the only artist to feature on the collaboration tape between Danny Brown and JPEGMAFIA, Scaring the Hoes, and here Peggy hops on ‘black enuff’ to return the favour.

Swizz Beats & Mass Appeal – Hip Hop 50: Vol.2

Legendary producer Swizz Beats assembles the A-Team on this record to celebrate 50 years of hip hop music. With features ranging from Lil Wayne to Nas to Benny The Butcher, the project isn’t shy of big names.

Jena Keating – 9

Cork artist Jena Keating has released a five-track EP with assistance from producer S P A C E. 9 is a moody tape that explores anguish with an excellent amount of versatility. Going from lo-fi, dancey tracks such as ‘PAUSE.’ to a brooding intensity on ‘s3rv!ce’, this one’s not to miss.

Mac DeMarco – One Wayne G

You know it’s going to be a good day when Mac DeMarco drops a 199 track album. The work is teaming with instrumental tracks perfect for those summer days coming up. Don’t worry though, there are still some tracks with lyrics from Mac, 8 hours 43 minutes of bliss.

The Alchemist x Domo Genesis – No Idols

This one is straight from the vault. This 10-year-old tape finally has hit streaming services. Then Odd Future member Domo Genesis works with one of the best producers in the underground accompanied with some perfect features.
