New top-secret sandwich popup opening in MVP

By Emily Mullen

The secrets out

The location of Dublin’s newest popup the Secret Sandwich Society ain’t such a secret anymore. The sandwich popup has announced it will be slinging its sandwiches from Dublin 8’s MVP, which will be launching from 10am on Thursday, April 15th.

These aren’t upstart sandwich sellers, this is a new venture from the people behind P Macs Dundrum which closed its doors on November 2020.

Sharing the news of the launch to their Instagram the Secret Sandwich Society wrote, “we can’t wait to become part of the community and bring you all some top-quality local sandwiches.”

Choosing Dublin stalwarts Bread41 as their bakers, the Society will be using the “best quality local and Irish produce” from the likes of McNally Family Farm, Knockanore Farmhouse, and Burns Butchers.

They have trialed a couple of sandwiches on their Instagram like a tasty-looking cajun chicken, a meatball sub, Jamaican jerk prawns on sourdough, Superquinn sausage sambo, and lots more.

The Clanbrassil Street Upper-based team has also been finely tuning a range of savory pastries to sell in the popup.

The Secret Sandwich Society will be open from 10am “until sold out” from Thursday through to Sunday. Follow them on Instagram for more information.

Elsewhere on District: South Anne Street and other city center streets will become permanently pedestrianised
