Noname: New album on the way, shares details of new single

Words: Dylan Murphy

The Chicago poet revealed details of ‘Rainforest’ in typically casual fashion.

Noname took to Twitter yesterday, to share details of her latest single ‘Rainforest’, which according to her, is dropping in a “few weeks”.

Noname’s last release was ‘Song 33’ which was shared in response to J. Cole’s song ‘Snow In the Bluff’.

Since then, she’s updated her Twitter bio to say, “factory baby 2021”, all but confirming that the follow up to 2018’s Room 25 is imminent.

Predictably, fans reacted excitedly to the news, with some tweeting support for Noname, saying they’d buy her merch and stream her music.

However, Noname responded by thanking one fan, but encouraged fans to join her book club, rather than buying merch.

Noname’s book club is described on its website as “an online/irl community dedicated to uplifting POC voices”. The book club highlights two books each month written by people of color and they send their picks to people incarcerated in America’s prison system.

We are waiting patiently for new music.

Elsewhere, Brent Faiyaz enlisted Tyler, The Creator for his first official single of 2021 ‘Gravity’.
