The Drogheda-based rapper is back with a new single that announces a long-awaited debut project.
It’s been four years since Offica made a splash with ‘Naruto Drillings’. Since then, he’s continued to create his trademark sound of anime-sampling rap cuts. Whether that’s the likes of 2021’s ‘Bluebird‘ or ‘FACE REVEAL’ which showed his face for the first time and started a new chapter.
Now, after a number of singles, he’s moving into project mode and he’s keeping that same energy. Offica has revealed his forthcoming tape named Hokage (release date yet unannounced) alongside the release of ‘Dedication’, a single fusing elements of drill with Jersey Club that also samples anime.
The name of the tape comes from Naruto and means the leader of the local village. As a frontrunner in the Irish scene that blends Yoruba and English and as a rapper that mixes styles like afrobeat, jersey club and drill at will, Offica’s forthcoming tape marks an important date in the music calendar.
‘Dedication’ sees the Drogheda rapper looking at his journey from a bird’s eye view before manifesting his future.
Since exploding onto the scene, Offica has collaborated with KSI, been part of one of the biggest drill freestyles of all time on Fumez The Engineer’s Plugged In platform and worked consistently with the A92 collective in Drogheda.
