Portobello’s Locks is set to reopen for takeaway

By Emily Mullen

“In some good news”

Restaurants in Dublin have had to dance to a drum that can’t quite be heard by anyone over the past year. Knowing what to launch, when to do it, has been a mammoth task for businesses that were normally flocked with customers whenever they opened their doors. Locks was one of those places, set along Portobello’s Grand Canal, the restaurant had a reputation for excellence that superseded it.

They’ve been running a successful pre-order and collect set menu for the past couple of months. A pretty competitively priced offering of Irish menu staples like stuffed chicken, sirloin steak, pork belly, and gnocchi, all of which are predominately Irish sourced.

In the latest iteration of changes, no doubt informed by the longer days and the faint whispers of reopening, Locks has launched their takeaway offering from 3pm on Friday, April 9.

The menu looks extremely transportable, key for a takeaway menu. Things like oysters with shallot pickle will be perfect lob into your mouth alongside the canal. While the Jane Russel’s pork and chili sausage roll, the tempura salt and vinegar hake and chips and the suckling pork bao buns with mango and BBQ, would be perfect to carry around Portobello while on the lookout for a vacant park bench.

Locks will be open Fridays from 3pm-7pm, Saturdays from 1pm-7pm and Sundays from 12pm-7pm. Follow them on Instagram for updates.
