No, you’re not broke.
If you attempted to buy something this morning and immediately thought you must have accidentally spent all your money at the weekend, you’re not alone.
Revolut, a fintech bank with 3.4 million customers in Ireland, has experienced a disruption to its services following an outage affecting Google’s Cloud network. The disruption has affected services including card payments, transfers, cash withdrawals and signing into accounts.
“We’ve been working to fix the issue since it was identified this morning and apologise to anyone affected and for any inconvenience caused,” a Revolut spokesperson said.
The issue is understood to be linked to an IT incident affecting Google Cloud, which has caused some services to experience errors and intermittent network failures. Google first reported problems with multiple services in the “Europe-west2” region late yesterday evening.
“Our engineering team continues to investigate the issue,” Google said via its service health page. “We apologise to all who are affected by the disruption,” it added.
