Roots are opening a pop-up today with Brown Thomas in their Planet Beauty shop on Clarendon Street. In a statement made to CHAR the team said they are “absolutely buzzing for it”.
Roots first opened in Monkstown a little over two years ago. Founded by Conor Griffin and Dave Meehan the little healthy breakfast-truck-that-could was named one of our best breakfasts in Dublin the year they opened.
The team imports their acai directly from Brazilian farmers, containing no colours, flavours or artificial preservatives. Most Acai in Ireland is sourced from the same importer. Who then sells it preformatted into a sorbet for storage and distribution reasons. While this is still good, the extra work it takes to import fresh unaltered acai from South America is notable and exemplary.
The duo had been doing the travelling food truck thing between UCD market and such before getting their second location in Greystones. Now they will take over Brown Thomas. Who knows what they’ll do next?
