The video for his latest single comes ahead of the September 10 release of his Glowchild Project.
Skibbereen’s resident crooner Rushes has really found a new lease of life since he returned with new music during lockdown. Finding magic in the personal touch laced throughout the lyricism in ‘Wide Eyed’ and ‘Funds’, he’s keeping the same energy in his latest offering ‘Blue Ghost’.
Having dropped the single on streaming services on Friday, Rushes has served up a supernatural video for ‘Blue Ghost’ that accentuates the more abrasive sounds that coalesce throughout the cut.
Speaking on the inspiration on the track, Rushes pointed back to his first experience at a rave. “It takes me back to the first rave I went to… that feeling of just floating and the raw, unfiltered atmosphere of the environment. It’s probably the most abrasive song on Glowchild… while the intro is quite melodic and lavish with that arpeggiated synth line, it leads into a harder hitting rave, club-inspired track”.
