slowthai issues apology on twitter for behaviour at NME Awards
Following his behaviour at the awards ceremony where he recieved the ‘Hero of the Year’ award, Thai has issued an apology.
There was widespread outrage last night with Northampton rapper slowthai’s behaviour at the NME Awards last night being branded misogynistic.
slowthai jumped off the stage after launching drinks back at a member of the crowd at the ceremony. Prior to this he had made numerous inappropriate comments towards the night’s co-presenter Katherine Ryan. Videos have been widely shared online of the incident.
He has now took to twitter to issue an apology:
.@nme please forward my award to @kathbum for she is the hero of the year. what started as a joke between us escalated to a point of shameful actions on my part. i want to unreservedly apologise, there is no excuse and I am sorry. i am not a hero. (1/2)
